Yesterday, Ryan spent his first full day at the sitter's. Yes, I felt a bit sad and guilty as I dropped him off, but mostly I was just so excited that I got seven straight daytime hours all to myself!!!
I have grand plans for the days Ryan is at the sitter's: tackle all those home improvement projects I've been dreaming about for months, organize the house, finish our wedding album (we got married in 2000), resuscitate the garden, make healthy, wholesome, delicious dinners for the family and find the perfect job.
And now here's a run down of how my first day alone actually went.
9:15 - Drop off Ryan
9:30 - Coffee with a friend
10:30 - Think about booking a massage
10:31 - Make bed, clean up from breakfast, check email, read blogs (same as what I'd do with Ryan around)
11:15 - Go to bank
Noon - Lunch with a friend (a burger and fries all to myself, oh my!)
1:30 - Buy Ella a gift for her 6 1/2 birthday (don't ask)
2:00 - Drop off change of clothes for Ella (something about a lunchtime puddle incident)
2:05 - Think about booking a massage and/or starting to paint the living room
2:06 - Read book
2:30 - Have a nap
3:30 - Pick up Ella
4:30 - Pick up Ryan
4:35 - Wonder why I didn't book that massage
5:30 - Throw pasta at pot and hope it cooks in time for dinner
Oh well, there's always next week.
